Be careful when burning candles. Do not burn candles unattended and always burn on a heat proof surface, such as an appropriate plate or candle holder. Make sure the candle is away from tiny hands and paws, and not near any drafts or billowy fabrics.
Do not blow out your candle! Use wet fingers, a candle snuffer, or a small dish to go over the flame to extinguish.
