Unlock the mysteries of the spirit world with this Mini Ouija Board + Planchette.
Also known as a spirit board, talking board, or witch board, the Ouija has a long and fascinating history. A similar talking board was first reported in Ohio in 1886, intended to enable faster communication with spirits. After Elijah Bond patented the Ouija in 1891, it was considered an innocent parlor game until American spiritualist Pearl Curran popularized its use as a divining tool during World War I.
Many believe the word “Ouija” comes from French oui and German ja (yes), but this is a misconception. According to tradition, medium Helen Peters Nosworthy asked the board to name itself, and it spelled out “Ouija.” When asked what it meant, the board responded: “Good Luck.”
