Cauldrons may seem magickal to us nowadays, but they used to be part of everyday life. Cauldrons were practical tools found in almost any home, magick and mundane alike. You'd be just as likely to see someone cooking a meal in one as you were to see a witch using one to brew a potion.
However, that doesn’t mean the cauldron isn’t significant to a witch. The cauldron represents the Goddess and her womb, the process of transformation and can be used in ritual to represent the elements of fire and water.
In modern times witches are more likely to use their cauldrons to hold or prepare ingredients for their spell work, although some may still use theirs to make the occasional potion. ;)
